Kitchen & Bath Remodeling Tips

Kitchen & Bath Remodeling Tips

Don’t break the bank when remodeling a kitchen or bath.  First, avoid changing the current layout as removing walls, changing the electrical and/or the plumbing locations can get expensive.

Secondly, get creative without using custom configurations.  To cut costs, consider factory-made cabinetry as they have some advantages such as baked on finishes and superior quality control. Many also offer limited lifetime warranties as well as free kitchen and bathroom design services.

Thirdly, consider your room sizes when designing a floor plan and selecting products. Patterns and colors often clash and can make a space feel cluttered. Also, make sure the style chosen is compatible with the rest of your home. Color can play a big role as well since many have differing psychological effects.

Finally, avoid getting too trendy with your cabinetry. Often glazed, distressed and crackled finishes cost more and can looked dated over time. Have fun with the easily changeable items such as paint, fabrics, cabinetry knobs and pulls, lighting and the accessories.
